The Pocono Mountains, also known as the "Endless Mountains", covers four counties in Pennsylvania, & this region is often referred to as "The Honeymoon Capital of the World" or the "Land of Love".

Here in the Poconos we've been "Blowing Snow" for over 40 years. In fact, Pocono Ski Resorts are know for being in the forefront of the SnowMaking business. Camelback, Shawnee, Jack Frost, Big Boulder, Blue Mountain and Skytop all have 100% coverage of their trails with Snow making. Each of these resorts has in the last two years purchased the newest in snowmaking equipment (replacing some equipment only 2-3 year old) in order to provide you with the best in snow.

The Best Reason to come to the Poconos, though, is because it's SSOOOO close. Imagine, from Times Square in New York City (or Rittenhouse Square in Philly) to the top of the ski lift ready to ski the mountain in less than 2 hours. (I've done it). You'll experience more snow in a day than if you travel anywhere else to ski or board.

Besides the romantic appeal of lots of skiing or boarding, the Pocono Mountains provides numerous activities
as well as beautiful scenery. There are over 8,000,000 tourists here in the Poconos each year. The concern for preservation has created 7 state parks, 72,000 acres of state forests, the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and numerous state game lands. It is noted that the most scenic hiking trails in the US are found in these mountains. There are trails ranging in difficulty from calming strolls to rugged hikes. It is simply a short distance for many city dwellers who are looking for a brisk getaway to refresh their well being.
